Responding to the providence of God - Rut 1

Where is God in my life? Where is God in the drama of my life helping me when I need it?

Maybe this is what you asking right now.
This is the theme presented by the book of Ruth. A book of only four chapters or scenes, with many dialogues and various protagonists teaches us about the providence of God.
Ruth chapter 1 teaches us how Naomi and Ruth respond to the providence of God. The way Naomi responds is very different from Ruth’s. Both teach us how we should and should not respond to God’s providence in our lives.

The Westminster Confession (It’s a confession of biblical truths) defines providence:
“God, the great Creator of all things, sustains, directs, arranges and governs all creatures, actions and things, from the greatest to the smallest, through his wisest and most holy providence, according to his infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable advice of his own will, in praise of the glory of his wisdom, power, justice, goodness and mercy. ” - Westminster Confession, chap. 5

In simpler terms, “God governs and directs everything and everyone from behind the scenes. He does this to show us that he loves us (show us his infallible love) and to help us carry out his will in our lives. ”
