God's Sovereign Rule in Your Life and Mine - Isaiah 44:24-45:25

Isaiah 45 deals with how God sovereignly rules in your life and mine. This raises a couple of  questions. First, can he rule my life without my approval or my willingness? Yes. In fact, we will see that God is in control of everything that happens in your life and it includes your unwillingness.  A second question is, why does he want to rule my life and yours? Isaiah 44:23 has the answer. To bring glory to to Himself.

The Westminster Catechism Short has this question and answer: Q - What is the chief end of man?  A - Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him for ever.

He wants to bring glory (fame, a realization of his greatness, display his beauty) to His name through your life just like he did with Israel. He wants to make his name known through your life. As He works in your life, he wants to show you that He is God and deserves to be worshipped by you. Our sole purpose and goal in life should be to worship God for who He is and what He has done in our lives.

The are four statements or truths that show God is sovereign over your life. As we learn these truths, think of how this leads you to worship Him, glorify Him and enjoy Him. Think of the the assumptions, wrong thinking, false ideas or other things that keep you from accepting and living in the light of these truths.
